A very IMPORTANT meeting for all sixth grade parents concerning the trip to Nature’s Classroom is scheduled for Thursday, September 2 at 5:30 p.m. in room 120-121 in the middle school. Each child needs to have one parent or adult representative at this meeting. There will be a slide show as well as information about costs, medical concerns, and chaperones.
Information sheets for the fall break mission trip to the City of Children orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico are now available in Mr. Ingram’s classroom (J2) and in the high school office. Passports are required for the trip.
Senior announcements:
Any senior who hasn’t paid the $100 deposit for the Disney trip should see Mrs. Hood immediately. The remaining balance of $460 (total minus the $100 non-refundable deposit) can be paid in two installments. The first installment ($230) is due October 8th, and the second installment ($230) on December 3rd.
Any senior who has not had senior portraits made should schedule a time with Lifetouch as soon as possible. See Mrs. Jones if you have any questions.
Academic Support Services ~ Tutoring for high school and middle school students is available in all subjects. For more information contact Melissa Conn mconn@bbschool.org. You can also check the Academic Support page of the school's web site (www.bbschool.org) for more information and a tutoring application. Any high school student interested in working as a tutor needs to complete an application. Applications are in the high school office.

Explore test will be September 8. All ninth grade students need to report to the Jett Gym at 8:05 a.m. with calculators ready for the test.
Volunteer opportunities: Morning Pointe Assisted Living Residence on Shallowford road is a residential facility that has seventeen elderly adults that are suffering from various levels of Alzheimer’s. They are looking for volunteers to assist their residence through group events like leading crafts, playing instruments, assisting planned events or simply spending time talking or reading to an individual. ALL Middle school and high school students are asked to report to the gym before school. Buildings will be open from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. After 3:30 students may wait in front or in the foyer of the Jett Gym for their ride.
Parents, please call the office before 9:00 a.m. to request assignments for a sick student or notify the office of early dismissal for a student. All assignments can be picked up between 3:15 and 4:00 the afternoon of the request.
Messages for students will be delivered only in case of a medical emergency. All other messages will be posted on the message board for students to retrieve between classes.
Backpacks are not to be left in the hallway. Please place your backpack on top of the lockers or on the shelves.
REMINDER: All medication, whether prescription or over-the-counter, must have a yellow medication consent form accompanying it and must be turned in to the nurse. Prescription medicine must have a doctor’s note. The office will not supply any medication.
