Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation
Eligibility: 9 -12 grade students
CKSF is offering “High School Internet Challenge”, a free national tournament-style academic quiz competition online. Weekly quizzes are offered throughout the school year following standard textbook material. Scholarships are awarded to the top students in each grade level on a quarterly basis.

Global Citizenship Scholarship for 8th, 9th and 10th graders.
The new scholarship covers the cost of tuition for a two-week Spanish immersion program through Concordia Language Villages for 10 students.

AXA Achievement Scholarship

Eligibility: One winner from each state will receive a one-time scholarship award of $10,000. They should have these qualities: ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, respect for self, family and community, ability to succeed in college, and be involved in philanthropic activities in their community.

Tennessee Society DAR Scholarship Essay Competition
Awarded Amount: $2,500
Deadline: January 9, 2009 to Mrs. Moore
Eligibility: A senior student that is a resident of Tennessee who plans to attend an established college or university.
The applicant must write an essay of 150-300 words on the subject, “My Chosen Profession: My Preparation, My Immediate Need, My Hope.”

Ellen Davies Rodgers/Zachariah Davies Scholarship Essay Competition
Awarded Amount: $750
Deadline: January 9, 2009 to Mrs. Moore
Eligibility: A senior that is a resident of Tennessee who plans to attend an accredited four-year university. The applicant is required to write an essay between 300-500 words entitled, “My Future and How I Hope to Achieve My Goal.”

Sam Walton Community Scholarship
Eligible: seniors planning to attend an accredited college or university approved by the Wal-Mart Foundation with a minimum 2.5 GPA, have taken the ACT and can show financial need.

Eligibility: 9-12 grades. 1200 word essay concerning the Holocaust
Prizes: Range from $300 cash to $10,000 scholarship and all-expense-paid trip to Chicago, IL (tentatively scheduled for June 22-26, 2009) to visit the new Illinois Holocaust Memorial Museum and other sites with teachers and Holocaust survivors.
