Biology II
The second course of biology builds upon the foundations learned in Biology I and consists of four main topics: biotechnology, in which current or recent aspects such as stem cell technology, cloning, and DNA fingerprinting are studied; ecology, dealing with the interactions of the living, non-living, and human aspects of the environment; vertebrate zoology, which includes lab work and dissections; and human anatomy and physiology, highlighting several body systems. Relative laboratory experiences and research opportunities are included.
Graphic Design I
Students in this elective course learn the basic principles of Graphic Design using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator programs. Students design and create such products as tee-shirts, advertisements, posters, logos, and CD/DVD covers. This course teaches students how to communicate through their work while incorporating their own personality and style in their design.
Photography
This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of photography. A systematic and thorough approach is emphasized in the area of composition, light, and camera operations. Students develop essential skills for obtaining consistent results and a foundation in photography as a visual language.
