Accelerated English II
Accelerated English II is similar to the description of English II, but consists of a more in-depth study of World Literature and the related culture. Students will participate in more extensive writing opportunities and outside reading assignments. The student will participate in an in-depth study of the research writing process and will complete a fully documented research paper on a teacher approved topic of controversy.
English II
English II integrates world literature, grammar, usage, mechanics, vocabulary and writing opportunities. Examples of units to be studied are Hebrew, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Chinese, Japanese and Indian literature. Classic and contemporary international authors are used for monthly out-of-class required reading. Extensive practice about writing about literary and contemporary topics is provided. The students will participate in an in-depth study of the research writing process and will complete a fully documented research paper.
